After our initial consultation, we will put together a package to fit your needs.  If you choose to book with Eden Floral Events, we will get to work designing the details for your wedding. We will prepare a detailed proposal and a wedding contract.

What does it mean to have a bride choose Eden Floral Events as her wedding designer/florist? 

 

I take very seriously the request to create the florals for a wedding.  I realize that it isn’t an easy decision for a bride to make.  She is placing her trust in the person who will create the florals for the most wonderful day of her life, her wedding day.  I assure you I take this opportunity seriously and will do the best I can for my wedding customers. 

 

How do you get started with the planning process?

 

I need to catch the vision of the brides day.  I want to know the venue location which provides me with the feel and style the bride is trying to create whether it’s an indoor wedding at a vineyard or at a Castle such as Meyers Castle in Dyer Indiana.  I want to know her wedding colors, the color of the linens, the style of the bridesmaids dresses, what kind of flowers she likes, what she doesn’t like.  All that is discussed during the consultation.  After I have accumulated all the information I can start the planning process.  It’s hard to describe the dynamic that goes into planning, creating and visualizing the brides wedding day and florals but it is filled with excitement, enthusiasm, a desire to get right on point, and of course a desire to create a day that she will always remember. 

 

What is involved in creating florals for a wedding?

 

First I have to catch the brides vision. Secondly, after much "meditation" about the information I’ve received I will start planning the design for each arrangement.  Thirdly, I will make decisions on variety and color of flowers.  Fourthly, I will place an order and pray everything comes together beautifully!  Lastly I will receive the flower order, open it up and unpack all the flowers.  I will clean and cut each flower before it goes into the bucket with flower food and then the work begins!!!

 

 

Special certificates for designing florals?

 

Yes, I am a certified Indiana horticulturist, I am certified by The American School of Floral Design in Chicago taught by Michael Gaffney.

 

It’s very important to find a skilled florist.  She must have the gift and flare for design first and mechanics second.

 

What responsibilities does a wedding customer have in order to book her wedding date?

 

I do ask that you set up a consultation as soon as possible.  Please gather information, pictures, details for your wedding flowers from Pinterest, online. 

 

I do ask for a $200.00 deposit to schedule the date for your wedding day. The $200.00 deposit is applied to the cost of your wedding flowers.  50% of the balance is due 3 months before your wedding day and 3 weeks before your wedding day the full balance is due.  You will receive a formal proposal and wedding contract which will be emailed to you.  Simple!  And that’s it!  Your wedding day is booked!
